Privacy policy

1. At a glance

This website is deliberately simple: there are no cookies, no tracking, no analytics tools and no embedded third-party content. Fonts and images are loaded directly from this website. Personal data is only processed when you visit the site (technically necessary server logs) or when you contact me, for example via the contact form.

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Netlify, Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, the server automatically records information your browser transmits: IP address, date and time of access, the page requested, referrer URL, browser type and operating system. This data is technically required to deliver the website and to keep it secure and stable.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is providing the website securely and without errors. Log files are deleted automatically after a short period unless they are needed to investigate a security incident. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Netlify.

Data may be transferred to the USA in the process. This is based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses included in Netlify’s data processing agreement and, where Netlify is certified, on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. For details see Netlify’s privacy policy: netlify.com/privacy.

The domain jakobschlenker.com is registered with Hostinger (Hostinger International Ltd., Cyprus), which also manages its DNS records. When the website is opened, the domain is resolved to a server address via these DNS servers; no website content is transferred in this step.

4. No cookies, no tracking

This website does not set cookies and does not store any information on your device. No analytics, advertising or tracking services are used, so no consent under § 25 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act) is required.

5. Fonts and images

The fonts used (Libre Baskerville, Space Grotesk) and all images are stored on this website's own server. Loading the site does not create any connection to Google or other third parties.

6. Contact by email, phone or contact form

If you contact me by email or phone, I process the details you provide (e.g. name, email address, content of your message) to answer your request. If you use the contact form, your details (name, email address, topic, message) are transmitted via the form service of my hosting provider Netlify, stored there and forwarded to me by email. I delete the entries at Netlify once your request has been dealt with.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract or pre-contractual steps, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries). I delete your data as soon as it is no longer needed and no statutory retention obligations apply. Emails are processed by my email provider.

7. Links to social networks

This website contains plain links to LinkedIn and Instagram. No plugins are embedded, so simply visiting this website does not send any data to these networks. Only when you click a link are you taken to the provider's site, where its own privacy policy applies.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20), and the right to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). A message to the email address above is enough.

You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg.

For security reasons this website uses TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by “https://” in your browser’s address bar.
